Heroic replace Evil Geniuses at BLAST Premier Fall Showdown

The North American side is unable to attend the tournament due to COVID-19 related restrictions.

HEROIC will take Evil Geniuses' place in the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown, which will kick off on November 24, as COVID-19 restrictions have prevented the North American squad from traveling to Europe, the tournament's organizers have announced.

Ranked second in the HLTV.org world ranking at the moment, the Danes have been invited to join the likes of FURIA, Ninjas in Pyjamas, FaZe, and Liquid after failing to qualify for the 16-team tournament, having placed third-fourth at the Elisa Invitational 2 in early November.

cadiaN & co. will face Endpoint in the first round

With Evil Geniuses dropping out of the tournament, Peter "⁠stanislaw⁠" Jarguz & co. will be unable to qualify for the Fall Finals. They have already secured a spot in January's Global Finals, however, after winning the Spring Americas Finals earlier this year.

BLAST Premier Fall Showdown will award spots at the Fall Finals to the top-two teams as well as $150,000 in prizemoney. The tournament will be played in a single-elimination, best-of-three bracket from Tuesday, November 24 to Sunday, November 29.

Casper "⁠cadiaN⁠" Møller's team will first take on Endpoint in the Round of 16, on Thursday at 19:30 . Their side of the bracket also features MOUZ, GODSENT, Complexity, Sprout, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and Cloud9.
